Dr. Whitacre specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. After graduating medical school at West Virginia University, he did an internship in general surgery at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He then completed residency training at the University of Michigan. His Interest include electrodiagnostics and musculoskeletal medicine with special attention to minimally invasive techniques to treat disorders of the spine. Dr. Whitacre is a member of the International Spine Intervention Society, Physiatric Association of Sports, Spine, and Occupational Rehabilitation, and the American Medical Society. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and sons, travel and sports of all kinds.
